Atchison To Annex Land

 (KAIR)--Atchison City Commissioners, during a meeting Monday afternoon, voted unanimously to annex property into the city limits. 

Assistant City Manager Becky Anderson says plans to annex the Armstrong Industrial Park property have been ongoing for several years. The delay was due to the fact that at first, the property was not owned by the city, but once it was purchased, the annexation was made possible. 

In other business, Commissioners were informed by City Manager Trey Cocking that the city's new dog park, currently under construction, has been named the Fetch and Stretch Dog Park.

Atchison residents were asked to vote on their favorite name in an online poll, after submitting their suggestions to city staff. Fetch and Stretch received the most votes, followed in no particular order by Hound Haven, Happy Hounds, and Tailspin.
