As the ground outside the South Brown County Board of Education office, in Horton, was coated with snow Monday evening, the school board members inside looked ahead to the end of next summer, and preparations for the new school year.
The board for USD 430 approved enrollment dates, and times, with August 6th, 7th, and 8th selected for that to happen.
The first day will run from 10 in the morning until 6 in the evening; the next day's enrollment session is scheduled from 8 until noon; while the final day will last from
8 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon.
The Board also finalized the calendar for the next school year, working from the third draft, following teacher's providing input into next year's schedule.

The board approved use of the electronic reading devices unanimously, while giving the same approval to the technology plan and textbook waivers, as presented by Superintendent Doctor Steve Davies.
