Six Auburn Public School Students were transported to the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn Monday about 3:45 p-m when the school bus they were riding was involved in an accident about a quarter mile east of Auburn on Highway 136.
Injuries to five of the six were described as possible but not visible with one student suffering a visible but non-disabling injury.
Laurence Ranch, 59 of Auburn, was driving the school bus, which had stopped at the railroad crossing on Highway 136. 17-year-old Taylor Covington was eastbound in a pickup and ran into the rear of the bus.
According to the accident report, a citation is pending against Covington. Neither alcohol or drugs are suspected to have been a contributing factor in the accident.
