Tiger Booster Club Makes Large Donation to Weight Room Project
03/13/2012

The Falls City Tiger Booster Club has stepped up to the plate with a sizeable donation to help equip the new High School Weight Room.
Booster Club president Robbie Craig opened the Falls City School Board meeting Monday night by presenting Superintendent Tim Heckenlively with a check for $12,000 to be used for weight room furnishings.
Craig says the club members felt that the new weight room – located in former track storage building at Jug Brown Stadium – is a project that will benefit Falls City students, and help Tiger athletics be more competitive.  (play audio  :12)
Heckenlively had said last month that he expected the Booster Club to take a role in the project, but he was surprised by the amount of the donation – which he says is a good start in raising the $75,000 the district hopes to raise to furnish the new weight room.  (play audio  :38)
Heckenlively says the Falls City School District is fortunate to have such an active Booster Club that is willing to take a leading role in the project.
Construction of the weight room facility is well underway.  Windows have been installed on the east side of the building, and Heckenlively said Monday that the electrical wiring is nearly complete.
The Falls City School District is paying for construction of the new weight room, with equipment being provided through private donations.
Many Booster Club members were in attendance at Monday’s meeting, and the announcement of the $12,000 donation drew applause from School Board members.
