(KAIR) -- A group of managing partners are looking to have one of Atchison’s historic abandoned schools rezoned for renovation.
A public hearing is set for today’s Atchison Planning Commission meeting to rezone the Martin East Elementary School at 507 Division Street from a single family residential to a multiple family residential property.
Community Development Director Stefanie Leif says Loren Bradley, of TwoLB, LLC, wants to turn the building into an apartment complex.
Leif says it’s been 15 years since Martin East was last actively used.
The meeting will be at 4:30 at City Hall.
