(KAIR) -- In an effort to make Atchison County employees healthier, County Commissioners are considering an initiative to incorporate wellness into their benefits.
Benefits consultant Hays Company met with Commissioners Wednesday to discuss the proposal.

He says there are two main reasons to explore this initiative.

Commissioners also heard a presentation from representatives of the YMCA about potential membership stipends for employees.
The YMCA would negotiate with the wellness committee as to their potential partnership with the county.
