Labor Day Weekend Activities Planned at Indian Cave State Park
08/29/2013

(KTNC) - Labor Day is the last holiday weekend of the summer, and a full slate of activities is planned for families at Indian Cave State Park.
Park Superintendent Kevin Holliday says one popular highlight of the weekend is the fish fry.  (play audio   :25   “to be at.”)
A fireworks display will follow the fish fry at 9:00 p.m. Saturday, near the St. Deroin Cemetery.
Holliday says there will be other activities going on throughout the weekend.  (play audio   :24   “throughout the park.”)
The Pioneer Long Rifle Gun Club will also hold its rendezvous, from 9:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 9:00 to 1:00 on Monday.  They’ll provide black powder demonstrations throughout the weekend.
For those wanting to spend the weekend, Holliday says tent camping sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  He says the reserved camper sites are full, but half of the park’s 134 camper pads are also available on a first-come, first-served basis.  A park entry permit is required to enter Indian Cave State Park.
More information is available by calling the park at 402-883-2575.
