(KTNC) - The 2013 Richardson County Fair Queen race saw a record number of votes cast for the 10 queen candidates.
More than 599 million votes were cast with one penny spent at Humboldt Chamber businesses equaling one vote. That total far exceeds last year’s total of 316 million votes, and is more than double the total votes cast in 2010. More than 296 million votes were added in the final week of voting alone.
Lindsay Harlow was crowned Richardson County Fair Queen during last Wednesday’s Coronation Ceremony.
Humboldt Chamber of Commerce officials note that the top five candidates in this year’s voting were in the top five each week of the balloting.
