Dubas Drops out of Nebraska Governor's Race
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Democrat Annette Dubas is dropping out of the 2014 Nebraska governor's race.
Dubas announced her decision Monday at a Lincoln news conference.
The state senator from Fullerton launched her campaign for Gov. Dave Heineman's job in September. Dubas toured the state after establishing her campaign and earned the support of a dozen fellow state lawmakers.
Dubas says the stress of the campaign was taking a toll on her family.
Heineman must leave office in 2015 because of term limits. Several Republicans have expressed interest in the job, but Dubas and former University of Nebraska Regent Chuck Hassebrook were the only Democrats running.
