(KTNC) -- Southeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership is offering an opportunity to help qualifying families invest their tax return dollars into the greatest asset they have – themselves.
SENCA is offering free adult financial literacy classes. The classes will cover money management, creating a spending plan, and will provide information on SENCA programs including homebuyer education and Individual Development Accounts.
Classes will be offered in Auburn, Falls City, and Nebraska City.
The Auburn class will be held Saturday, February 1 and Saturday, March 1, from 9:00 a.m. till noon and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. both days, at the Nemaha County Hospital.
Classes in Falls City will be held at the Senior Center from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4 and Thursday, February 6.
Classes in Nebraska City will be held Monday, February 10 and Wednesday, February 12, also from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Center for Children and Families.
The classes are six hours long, so those attending the evening classes will need to attend both sessions to complete the class. Those wanting to participate also need to pre-register. That can be done by calling the SENCA office in Humboldt at 402-862-2411, extension 115, or by calling the local SENCA Outreach office. The deadline to register for the February classes is January 30th and the deadline to register for the March 1 class is February 26.
SENCA is also offering free income tax preparation again this year, to qualifying individuals, through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Contact the SENCA office for more information.
