Pawnee City Woman Injured in Saturday Crash
03/31/2014

(KTNC) -  A Pawnee City woman was injured when she lost control of the pickup she was driving early Saturday morning in rural Pawnee County.
Sheriff Jayme Reed says 25-year-old Kara Lee was driving a 2007 Chevy Colorado crew cab pickup southbound on Highway 50 about a-mile-and-a-half south of the Johnson-Pawnee County line shortly after 3:00 a.m. Saturday, when the truck crossed the centerline and went off the east side of the highway. The truck came back onto the road before going off the west side of the highway and rolling several times.
Lee was ejected from the vehicle. Sheriff Reed says Lee was life-flighted to a Lincoln hospital with several broken bones.
The Pawnee County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash. Sheriff Reed says they don’t know what caused the vehicle to go off the highway initially, but she says it may have blown a tire.
