Commission Approves New Vechicle for Holt County Sheriff's Department
06/25/2014

(KTNC)--The Holt County Sheriff’s Department will be getting a new vehicle, to replace a patrol car that was damaged in a chase earlier this month.
Holt County Commissioners approved a request from Sheriff Scott Wedlock to purchase a 2011 Crown Victoria from the Missouri Highway Patrol’s used patrol car fleet at a cost of $14,950.
Equipment, such as radios and lights from the damaged vehicle – a 2007 Crown Victoria – should fit into the new vehicle.
The county will use the insurance payment from the damaged vehicle as a down payment for the new vehicle.
The patrol car was damaged during a pursuit in the overnight hours of June 8.
Meanwhile, Holt County Clerk Kathy Kunkel says the county has not seen any serious issues or damage related to the latest round of Missouri River flooding. She says the water level is not high enough to impact the levies that were rebuilt after the 2011 flood.
The river at Rulo has crested and is forecast to fall below flood stage sometime late Friday night.
