Jefferson Co Commissioners Approve Oil Bid

 Jefferson County will have their road oil for their 2012 season.

 County Commissioners accepted the low bid of two dollars and 35 cents a gallon for 180 thousand gallons of RS-1H and two dollars and 22 cents a gallon for 10 thousand gallons of SS-1H oil from Vance Brothers of Kansas City, Missouri.

 The board also accepted the bid of Midwest Construction of Holton in the amount of 72 thousand dollars to repair a closed low maintenance bridge in Winchester.

 The board also voted two to one the requests of four employees to opt out of direct deposit for their checks with Commissioner Mall voting nay.

 Commissioners also handed out service awards, recognizing road and bridge motor grader operator Larry Stephens for 25 years, register of deeds Delia Heston for 20 years, and road and bridge superintendent Francis Hubbard for 15 years of service.
