Atchison Teens Visit D.C. to Say No to Human Trafficking
03/30/2012

Several Atchison teens and their sponsors traveled with their local church last week to Washington D.C. to visit one of Kansas’ U.S. Senators pushing for legislation against human trafficking.

Members of the Christian Church of Kansas visited a representative of Senator Jerry Moran to talk about the act, which is putting individuals into slavery, whether it’s through sexual exploitation or labor.

The group first went to New York City to attend the International Affairs Seminar to gain further education on the issue before their trip to D.C.

Atchison High School Senior Kenny Moranz says they wanted the Senator to put the TVPRA act into place.

The group encourages contacting your Senators and congressmen and women to bring TVPRA back to the floor for another hearing.
