Peru State Women Host Golf Triangular
04/23/2012

On a very cool and blustery Sunday, the Peru State College (PSC) Bobcat women's golf team hosted a triangular at the Table Creek Golf Course in Nebraska City.
The triangular ended in a tie between Peru State and Nebraska Wesleyan as both teams finished with 384 team scores.  Hastings College trailed significantly behind at 429.
Bobcat head coach Brett Hahn stated, “Normally in duels or triangulars, we don't playoff to determine an outright winner.  However, I am extremely happy with how the girls played today.  These conditions were by far the toughest we have played in this spring.  Not only was it very cool at 9 a.m., but the wind blew throughout the meet.”
Jordan Schaardt (Humboldt) finished as the medalist for the triangular as she shot a 91 for 18 holes, two better than her nearest competitor.  Coach Hahn said, “Once again, Jordan played strong and her 91 was good enough for medalist honors.”
Other golfers for the Bobcats were Courtney Musgrave (Omaha) – 5th with 96; Katie Potter (Omaha) – tie for sixth with 97; Ellen Larsen (Lincoln) – tie for tenth with 100; and Jacey Stoner (Alda) – 12th with 107.
In conclusion, Hahn noted, “We have a solid week of practice coming up before we head to the conference tournament. I'm very confident we will be ready and will produce some great scores in our conference tournament!”
The Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) tournament will be held next Monday and Tuesday, April 30 and May 1, at the Hailridge Golf Course in Boonville, Mo.  The meet is being hosted by Central Methodist University.
