(KAIR) -- Today is Patriots Day--the annual observance to honor the victims of the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11th, 2001.
The Ladies Auxiliary of Atchison VFW Post 1175 will host the fifth annual Patriot's Candlelight Vigil this evening at 7:30.
The Vigil will be held at Atchison's Riverfront Veterans' Memorial Park.
Local author, Rev. Jack Albright,will be one of the speakers and SINGSATION, youth choral group, will perform several patriotic numbers.
The Ladies Auxilary will provide the candles.
Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has signed an executive order for all flags to be flown at half-staff today for Patriot’s Day.
U.S. Senator Pat Roberts also reflects on 9/11.
