(KAIR) -- Jefferson County Commissioners have moved forward with the process of refinancing the county’s 2005 five-point-two-four million dollar bond.
Commissioners retained Oppenheimer & Company with a condition that included a floor minimum savings of 170 thousand dollars.
Also, following an executive session, hired Josh Ney as County Counselor with a salary of 30 thousand dollars.
Commissioners also ordered a resolution to be drafted that would suspend the issuance of any and all building permits for property within Lakeside Village near Ozawkie until June 1st in order to further study the issue of wastewater disposal regulation in the county.
The Commission also directed the Planning and Zoning Administrator to suspend any pending permits immediately until the draft can be reviewed by Commissioners at their next meeting February 25th.
