(KTNC) - Donations made to SENCA Food Pantries in the next two months will go a little further than normal. Southeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership is again participating in the annual Feinstein One Million Dollar Challenge.
This is the 16th year for the challenge, which is a nationwide effort to raise donations for charities that help fight hunger. Melissa Hardenberger is the Family Development Specialist in SENCA’s Richardson County Outreach Office. (play audio :33)
To date, the past Feinstein Challenges have raised over a billion and-a-half dollars for more than 1,800 agencies, including SENCA. The more donations SENCA receives, the more it stands to receive for its six-county service area. Hardenberger says her office received $300 through the challenge last year. She says the need remains. (play audio :24)
The challenge ends April 30th. To donate, contact the SENCA Outreach Office in your county. The Richardson County office is located in Room 103 at the Courthouse in Falls City. Donations can also be left at SENCA’s Central Office in Humboldt.
