(KTNC) - All residents of the town of Peru are invited to attend a town hall meeting at City Hall on Thursday, April 25, to review results of a survey sent to residents earlier this year.
A total of 208 surveys were returned. The surveys asked residents what the most important issues are that need to be addressed in the next three to five years. The top six responses to that question were: water quality, streets, the appearance of the community, retail business, cleaning up properties, and the entrance to the city.
Southeast Nebraska Development District will facilitate the April 25th meeting. Attendees will be asked to identify steps that can be taken to help address the priority issues.
There will also be an update of projects and goals that came out of the November 2011 town hall meeting. Projects identified then included: enhancing the entrance to Peru and downtown revitalization, enhancing home ownership, strengthening code enforcement, wi-fi access, and business development.
The April 25th meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Anyone who has specific concerns, but who will not be able to attend the meeting, can contact the Mayor, City Council, City Clerk, or Peru Chamber of Commerce leaders Ken Hastings and Kristi Wemhoff…or contact SENDD at 402-862-2201, prior to the meeting.
