(KAIR) -- A 12-year-old Nortonville boy gives a big boost to a Nortonville food pantry, donating just over a thousand non-perishable items, while presenting a check for 570 dollars.
The Wednesday morning donation to the Pantry of Hope was provided by Colby Weishaar who collected over 25-hundred items as part of his 4-H service project.
Known as " Operation Kick Me Out of My Bedroom", Weishaar began filling his bedroom with donated food items last September.
The project wrapped up Tuesday, following the announcement by the national non-profit food bank, the Feinstein Foundation, that it would match Weishaar's final total of items collected.
Weishaar will donate the remaining items to the Valley Falls Food Pantry and God’s Storehouse in Meriden.
Photos of Colby’s donation can be found at the “Operation Kick Me Out of My Bedroom” Facebook page.

This is actually the second donation Colby has made this month to the Pantry of Hope. The first one was 500 items, bringing the entire total to 1508. So proud
