(KTNC) -- A few southeast Nebraska attractions are among the locations selected for the 2014 Nebraska Passport Program.
The Nebraska Tourism Commission unveiled the 80 stops in the program this week. New to the program this year are special-interest tours featuring top Nebraska quilting destinations, patriotic and military sites, and a tour that will help visitors learn about the history of transportation.
The passport program encourages travelers to explore Nebraska, collect stamps from participating attractions and earn prizes. The 2014 program features 80 attractions on 10 themed tours.
Travelers have from May 1 through September 30 to visit attractions and redeem stamps for prizes. For each completed tour, participants win a Nebraska Passport t-shirt. Other prizes are also available for collecting a certain number of stamps. A drawing will be held in October for the grand prize of a 60-inch plasma TV.
Passports will be available at participating stops in May.
Among the Passport tour sites this year is the Grand Weaver Hotel in Falls City, part of the “Hit the Snooze” tour. Other tour sites include Arbor Lodge State Historical Park, and Lied Lodge and Conference Center at Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City, and the Black Crow Restaurant and Bar in Beatrice.
