Citizens in Atchison County will not be allowed to burn materials until further notice.
Atchison County Commissioners Monday morning issued an indefinite burn ban beginning immediately.
Commissioners cited the warm, dry weather, high winds and a large rural weekend fire as reasons behind the ban.
In other business, Commissioners gave the ok for the GIS department to enter into geospatial imagery contract.
The contract, for 39 thousand dollars will be funded through the E-911 portion of the county budget.
Commissioners made a visit to the Road and Bridge department shop to view items that are overdue for repair or replacement.
