Juvenile Mischief to Blame for Atchison House Fire
01/30/2012

Juvenile mischief in a house basement is to blame for a house fire in Atchison.

Crews responded to a home at 1205 Atchison Street Saturday afternoon just before two, blocking off access in that area.

Atchison Fire Chief Mike McDermed says they were able to quickly contain the fire.

McDermed Beanbag   RT: :28  OC: “…the residence.”

However, the reasoning behind why the beanbag was on fire wasn’t available immediately.

McDermed Beanbag 2   RT: :42  OC: “…to get it.”

McDermed says no charges are expected to be filed and says it’s up to the parents for any further disciplinary matters.
