A group of around five, comprised of local business and governmental leaders, gathered Thursday for a roundtable noon hour discussion with United States Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins.
During the listening session, held at the Morrill Public Library in Hiawatha, Jenkins heard concerns regarding a wide variety of topics from the local leaders(Play Audio :30 seconds)
Brown County Commissioner Warren Ploeger voiced his concerns regarding federal regulations pertaining to critical fracture bridge inspections, and the cost incurred on the county because of the crackdown.
Jenkins says that issue, along with the others heard, arm her with necessary information to take back to Congress in order to address the impact of federal law on local communities(Play Audio :30 seconds)
Following the hour long discussion in Hiawatha, Jenkins continued her listening tour with local constituents, traveling to Doniphan County for a similar meeting in Wathena.
