Three teens were injured in a one-vehicle accident south of Rock Port Thursday afternoon.
The Missouri State Patrol says 19-year-old Markus Shepard of Fairfax was driving a 1998 Toyota Camry southbound on Atchison County Route W, 10 miles south of Rock Port, when the accident happened just after 3:30 Thursday afternoon. Officials say Shepard lost control of the car, which skidded off the road, overturned, and came to rest on its wheels on the west side of the road.
Shepard, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to the Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph with minor injuries.
Two passengers in the vehicle, 18-year-old Daniel Long of Gower, Missouri, and 16-year-old Haley Shepard of Fairfax, were taken to the hospital with what were described as moderate injuries.
Neither Long nor Haley Shepard were wearing seat belts.
