A 26 year old Valley Falls man is out on bond after being arrested on multiple charges.
According to Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig, Jared Sloop was taken into custody Monday morning on a warrant for felony charges of identity theft and forgery, as well a misdemeanor interference with a law enforcement officer count.
Herrig says Sloop is accused of obtaining counterfeit checks and using them on two occasions in Valley Falls and on three occasions in Oskaloosa in early 2012.
Herrig says the misdemeanor count is from another incident where Sloop allegedly gave a false name after being pulled over for a traffic stop.
Sloop posted a 25 hundred dollar bond several hours after his arrest and now awaits formal charges.
