19 members of the Peru State College chapter of Phi Beta Lamda, a state and national business association, will represent Nebraska at the association’s National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas in June. 
    Students earn a trip to nationals after placing in a variety of competitive events at the 2012 Nebraska Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference in Kearney.
    Earning first place honors in the competitions were:
Deborah Trecek a senior Marketing Major from Bellevue in Marketing Concepts and Retail Management.
    Preston Bruss, a senior Business Administration Major from Bennet in Justice Administration.
    Will Fogle, a senior Computer Management Information Systems Major from Peru who placed first in Computer Concepts and Cyber Security.  Fogle is the reigning national champion in Database Design and Applications.
    The team of Kesha Beethe from Tecumseh, Mary Martin and Jamie Theye placed first in Community Service Project. 
    Mallory Lempka from Sterling  and Mike Mulroney were first in Bustiness Ethics;  
    Lempka and Andrew Staudt placed first in Small Business Management Plan;  
    Richard Oppitz from Topeka and Paige Riza from Ravenna, Texas placed first is Digital Video Production.
    The Peru State Chapter was awarded with the Gold Excellence Award at the statewide conference for their commitment to the organization by participating in various community service projects and other activities.  
    Peru State Assistant Professor of Business Sheri Grotrian-Ryan was recognized as Nebraska’s Advisor of the Year.
