The Thomas Memorial Track proved to be a fast track Tuesday, as meet records were set or tied in 18 of 34 events during the Irish Junior High track meet.
Pawnee City won both the girls and boys team titles.
Individually, the Indians’ Mariah Willey set three meet records – in the long jump, 100-meter dash, and 200-meter dash.
Sacred Heart’s Maggie Goltz set new meet records in the triple jump and 400-meter dash; Laura Box of Nebraska City Lourdes set records in the 300-meter hurdles and 1600-meter run; Jade Hill of Sacred Heart set a meet record in the 800-meter run; Libby Fulton of Nebraska City Lourdes set a record in the 100-meter hurdles; and Pawnee City established new meet records in all three relays. Angela Wenzl of Johnson-Brock tied the meet record in wining the high jump.
On the boys’ side, Will Drake of HTRS put his name on three meet records – in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and 400-meter dash. HTRS set a meet record in the 1600-meter relay, and Pawnee City set a new meet record in the 4-by-200-meter relay.
