Auburn School Board Approves Technology Upgrades
The Auburn, Nebraska School Board has approved spending more than $220,000 on new computer equipment from Apple and $125,366 to update the internet service to the district buildings. Superintendent Kevin Reiman says the time had arrived to make the upgrades. ( play audio :46 seconds )
The expenses did not stop with technology. Superintendent Reiman says $165,156 was approved for class room supplies for the 2012-13 school year. ( play audio :28 seconds )
The Auburn School Board accepted the retirement resignations of elementary teachers Judy Crawford and Wendy Engles and the resignation of Diane Thomas.
The Board also approved hiring Holly Rieschick as a secondary P-E teacher at the Middle School and High School, two teachers were hired to work at Calvert Elementary School, Ben Adams as a 1st Grade teacher and Nicole Dunn to teach second grade.
The 2012-13 tuition rate for students from outside the district was set at $4,500; a Mid-Term Graduation request for Chris Staska was approved.
Superintendent Reiman says the Board also heard information from a group wanting the Auburn School District to start a baseball program. ( play audio :22 seconds )
