A 30-year-old Leavenworth man faces federal charges regarding child pornography.
According to the office of U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom, Brian Kennedy is charged
with one count of receiving and distributing child pornography and one count of possessing child porn.
The crimes allegedly occurred in August 2007 and March 2008 in Leavenworth County.
If convicted, Kennedy faces a penalty of not less than five years and not more than 20 years in prison, along with a fine up 250-thousand dollars. Those penalties are in connection to the charge of receiving the child pornography.
For possession of the porn, Kennedy faces a maximum of 10-years behind bars and a fine up to 250-thousand-dollars.
He was arrested following an investigation by the FBI.
