A motion has been filed to determine the competency of a young Horton man facing three felony sex charges involving a juvenile girl.
18-year-old Trenton Kuhnert is charged in Brown County District Court with rape, aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
District Judge Jim Patton will consider the motion filed by Kuhnert’s court appointed attorney, Andy Delaney. A hearing date hasn’t been set yet.
A preliminary hearing for Kuhnert had been set for Wednesday.
Kuhnert was arrested May 11th after the victim’s mother reported the alleged crime, which authorities say occurred at an abandoned house in Horton.
According to court documents, the female victim was born in 1997.
Kuhnert remains in the Brown County Jail on one million dollars bond after a request for a bond reduction was denied Wednesday.
