Atchison County’s Attorney has filed for re-election.
Gerald Kuckelman filed by petition this (Thursday) morning for the Republican nomination for the office that he’s held since 2001.
The Atchison native graduated from Washburn Law School in 1985 and has operated a private practice since 1987.
From 1985 to 1987, he was Assistant Attorney General for the state of Kansas and was named Kansas prosecutor of the year in 2011 by the Kansas County and District Attorneys Association.
He is the first to file for the position.
