SCC Men's Golf 4th After Three Rounds of National Tourney

    Scores were a bit higher Thursday in the third round of the NJCAA Division 2 National Tournament in Plymouth, Indiana.  Southeast Community College’s men’s golf team is in 4th place heading into today’s (Friday’s) final round. 
    The Storm shot a combined 309 on Thursday and they are currently at 900, 36 strokes over par, through three of four rounds. That total is just one shot behind the third place team from John A. Logan College of Illinois, and two strokes behind second place Tyler, Texas Junior College.  Mississippi Gulf Coast is 5th, just four shots behind Southeast.  South Mountain Community College of Arizona has a comfortable lead heading into the final round, at plus-12 876.
    Individually for Southeast, Calvin Freeman continues his consistent play.  He’s in a four-way tie for 5th place at six over par, with rounds of 75, 73, and 74 on the par 72 course. 
    Southeast’s Caleb Harms is one shot back, tied for 9th at seven over par.  James Willis is at plus-12, Mike Downey is at plus-14, and Alex Overfelt at 19 over par.
    Jimmy Kozikowski of South Mountain and Ryan Mulvany of Tyler Junior College are tied for the lead at one under par 215 through three rounds.
    The tournament concludes today (Friday).
