The Southeast Community College men’s golf team finished fourth in the final standings at the NJCAA Division 2 National Tournament.  The tournament wrapped up Friday at the Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana.
Southeast, which started the final round in 4th place, shot a team score of 296 on the final day to finish at 44 strokes over par for the four-day tournament.  That score was just two strokes out of second place, which was shared by Tyler, Texas Junior College and John A. Logan College of Illinois.  South Mountain Community College of Arizona ran away with the team title, finishing with a team total of 11-over par 1163, a full 31 strokes ahead of the second place teams.  Mississippi Gulf Coast was just four strokes behind Southeast in 5th place.
Individually, the Storm placed two golfers in the top 10.  HTRS graduate Calvin Freeman finished 6th, at 7-over par 295.  He shot a final round 73 Friday, to go along with scores of 75, 73, and 74 on the par-72 course.
Caleb Harms also finished in the top 10 placing 9th with a 9-over par total of 297.
Ryan Mulvany of Tyler Junior College was the individual champion.  He finished at 5-under par 283 after a final round 68.  That was good for a three-shot victory over second place, Jimmy Kozikowski of South Mountain Community College.
