Science Center Dedication Set For Today
05/29/2012

A special ceremony is set for this afternoon, as the Banner Creek Science Center dedicates a new building.

That will happen at 4:30, at 22275 N Road, in Holton, located at the Banner Creek Reservoir.

The center features a special 20 inch telescope, and carries the goal of providing hands on scientific education in harmony with the ecosystem and Native American culture.

Expected speakers include representatives from the Jackson County Commission, the USD 336 school board, Jackson County Tourism, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, and Kansas Wildlife, Parks and Tourism secretary, Robin Jennison.

United States Senator Pat Roberts is also expected to attend this afternoon's ceremony as a featured guest.
