Farmers Asked to Complete USDA Survey
Farmers and ranchers in Nebraska will soon be contacted by the U-S Department of Agriculture to respond to a survey regarding their operation. Bob Bass is with USDA's Statistic Service and says they want to know how many acres are planted. (play audio :14 “this fall.”)
Bass says they also want to know about stored grain and livestock. (play audio :12 “inventory intentions.”)
Bass says all this information will be used to determine reports that will be released in late June and July. (play audio :07 “across the country.”)
Farmers can expect the surveys to arrive within the next week or so and USDA says a timely response is important. About 140,000 farmers and ranchers in the U-S will be contacted either by mail, phone and about 40,000 in person.
