Three candidates filed by petition Friday morning for the 3rd District Atchison County Commissioner seat being vacated by Tom Wagner.
Mike Stec of the Mount Pleasant Township and John C. Buehler joins Henry Pohl as candidates for the Republican nomination.
On the Democratic side, Mary Perkins of the Mount Pleasant Township is the first on that ticket to seek the nomination.
Wagner chose not to seek re-election after eight years in office.
The district spans through parts of Atchison, as well as property south of the city limits, until the county line.
