Boil Advisory Lifted for Powhattan
06/01/2012

A boil advisory has been lifted for the city of Powhattan.

The advisory was issued Tuesday after water service was shut off in the community for the replacement of several water valves and fire hydrants.

A city official said today ( Friday ) that testing conducted by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment indicted no contamination in the water system.

As result, residents no longer need boil the water they use for drinking and food preparation.
