Table Rock Native Named Nebraska Prep Coach of Year
Table Rock native Ryan Gottula has been named the Lincoln Journal Star Boys Prep Coach of the Year in Nebraska.
Gottula led the Lincoln Southeast Football team to the Class A championship in his first year as head coach. The University of Nebraska at Omaha graduate previously coached at Ralston, Omaha Westside and the became offensive coordinator at Southeast in 2008.
Gottula was a standout in football, basketball and track at Table Rock and noted that he encourages the athletes at Southeast to participate in multiple sports.
Other noteable winners of the Boys Prep Coach of the Year include Doug Goltz of Sacred Heart in 1998; Larry Ribble of Millard South in 1989, Frank Solich of Lincoln Southeast in 1978, Ken Cook and Larry Coorts of Adams in 1977 and Jack McIntyre from Falls City in 1955.
