Two women from Omaha were injured in an accident on Interstate 29 east of Craig, Missouri Sunday morning.
According to the Missouri State Patrol, 20-year-old Shakhnoza Khasanzoda was driving a 2010 Hyundai Accent southbound on the interstate, one mile east of Craig, when the accident happened shortly after 11:00 a.m.
Authorities say Khasanzoda was in the passing lane, and apparently lost control of the vehicle after driving onto the inside shoulder of the highway. The car went into the median, skidded sideways, and overturned across the northbound lanes, coming to rest on its wheels off the east side of the northbound lanes.
Khasanzoda and a passenger in the vehicle, 27-year-old Dilnoza Azimova, were taken by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph with moderate injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts.
The Holt County Sheriff’s Department assisted the State Patrol at the scene of the accident.
