The Doniphan County Road and Bridge Department will begin chip sealing roads for the 2012 season Wednesday.
10 miles will chip and sealed in the First District, 10 miles in the Second District and 9.2 miles in the Third District.
County commissioners will also told Monday that Herzog Contracting Corporation will begin the two inch asphalt resurfacing project on Last Chance Road late July or early August due to a shortage of aggregate supplies and scheduling.
In other business, the commission approved the purchase of a 1998 Kenworth dump truck from Jim Miller Construction of rural Wathena for $35,500 with the trade-in of 1986 Freightliner.
Funding for the truck will come from the equipment reserve fund.
On the recommendation of Fire District #3 Board President Bob Hoffman, the commission approved the appointment of Tyson Rush as secretary/treasurer on the board.
