A Home, Kansas man escaped serious injury Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 36 highway in Marshall County at the west city limits of Home.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 39-year-old Dominic James Schmitz was traveling west when he slowed for a reduced speed zone and his 2010 Toyota pickup was struck in the rear by a semi Freightliner driven by 21-year-old Scotty Blanton of Morrison, Tennessee.
Schmitz was taken to the Marysville hospital with possible injuries.
The Patrol says he was wearing a seat belt.
The semi driver was not hurt.
The accident was reported around 2:45 Friday afternoon.
