A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a pickup truck on a northwest Missouri highway Friday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Patrol, 66-year-old Jerry Rupp of Shenandoah, Iowa, was driving a 2000 Victory Motorcycle southbound on U.S. Highway 59 about a half-mile north of Tarkio at around 12:20 Friday afternoon, when he met a pickup that was attempting to make a left turn at the crest of a hill.
According to the patrol report, Rupp laid the bike down and slid into the wheels of a trailer being pulled by the pickup.
Rupp, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike and came to rest in the northbound lane of the highway.  He was taken by helicopter to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha with serious injuries.  The driver of the pickup, 57-year-old David Laur of Westboro, was not injured.
