A new principal has officially been hired for the Wetmore Academic Center.
During a special meeting Thursday afternoon, The Prairie Hills USD 113 board of education approved a contract with Janelle Boden for the 2012-2013 school year at a salary of $60,572.
Boden has been a special education teacher at Wetmore the last 17 years.
She will replace David Schmitz who is retiring after serving as principal the past 5 years.
In other business, the board accepted a bid from Haug Communications of Seneca for a new mobile radio communication system in district buses.
The total bid is $75,119 for the equipment, installation and programming.
The board also approved an agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation for use of their towers and licensing.
