The Falls City Rural Fire Department responded to a call three miles south of Falls City and about a quarter mile east of Highway 73 Thursday afternoon.
Mike Weaver was bailing hay on the Mullins property and a bearing in the bailer got hot and a bale caught on fire. The fire spread to several windrows of hay.
There were no injuries and no damage to the bailer.
