Construction on the Main Street Project in downtown Falls City is set to get underway July 9th. City Administrator Gary Jorn informed the Council Monday night of where and when the work will begin. ( play audio :35 seconds )
The rest of the meeting took only about 10 minutes to complete. Councilmen approved a request from the Electrical Examiners to have the City Attorney create an ordinance amending the electrical code. Utility Superintendent Alan Romine explained the proposal to the Council. ( play audio :24 seconds )
The Council also approved the use of Prichard Auditorium for a wedding reception August 11th and to allow alcohol to be served and use of the auditorium by the Northwest Fight Club and to allow alcohol in October and again in January.
Permission was granted to the Pioneer Longrifle Club to fire blanks from their guns on their float during the Cobblestone Parade in August and the annual request for various street closings and such from the Falls City Chamber of the Cobblestone Festival were also approved.
