Fly Flags on July 4th
07/03/2012

Nebraska Secretary of State John Gale is urging state residents to fly the U.S. flag during the July Fourth holiday.

Gale's office is also reminding residents that they can have U.S. and Nebraska flags flown at the State Capitol throughout the year in recognition of individuals, accomplishments and special occasions. Flags flown at the Capitol are accompanied by a keepsake certificate signed by Gale detailing the date and purpose of the flag-flying.

Those interested must provide the flag, deliver it to Gale's office and provide information on why the flag is being flown.

The flags are flown at the Capitol on Monday through Friday, but not on holidays.
