( KNZA )--A Highland woman sentenced last month in a child abuse case has been arrested for an alleged probation violation.
26-year-old Cassie Collins was given a suspended six month prison sentence on a felony charge of aggravated endangerment of a child and placed on one year supervised probation.
Collins was arrested last week for allegedly violating a condition of her probation.
A probation revocation hearing has been set for August 8th and bond set at $10,000.
Collins two-year-old daughter was taken to the Hiawatha Community Hospital April 4th with severe burns and bruises. After an initial examination, the child was transferred to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City where she was a patient for two weeks.
Her 25-year-old boyfriend, Brandon Mottin of Lancaster, pleaded not guilty last month to a charge of aggravated battery and a jury trial is tentatively scheduled to begin August 22nd.
