(KTNC) - A recent Creighton University graduate is the new physician at the Pawnee County Memorial Hospital and Rural Health Clinic.
Hospital Administrator Jim Kubick says the new doctor was hired after a yearlong search. (play audio :25)
Dr. Hamid Makhtar (mook-tar) is a native of Lahore, the second largest city in Pakistan. He completed his residency last month.
Dr. Makhtar and his wife live in Omaha, where she is a business student at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and Dr. Makhtar plans to commute to the hospital in Pawnee City from Omaha.
