(KNZA)--Horton gained it's newest City Commissioner yesterday, with the current Commission publicly interviewing three candidates for the Parks and Recreation Commissioner's seat during a special meeting at City Hall.
The position came open following the October 1st resignation of Doctor Steve Davies.
In the running were Al Barton, David “Buzz” Allen, Senior, and Glenn Fetty.
Once the candidates had been asked why they wished to serve and what they knew about the City's parks and rec efforts, among other questions, Barton was selected for the post(Play Audio)
Commissioner Jeremy Forkenbrock made the motion for Barton's appointment, with Commissioner Wade Edwards providing the second. The three remaining Commissioners then voted with them in approving the selection.
Barton will be sworn in at the start of the next Horton Commission meeting, set for October 15th.
He will serve until the election of 2014.
